This view of the grasslands of the Sonoita/Elgin area shows the Whetstone Mountains to the left and center, and the beginning of the Mustang Mountains to the right. The strange-looking hill that looks like a muffin is Mt. Bruce.

In the photos below, we take a circular panorama of photos from the observatory floor over the walls, starting at the northeast and going clockwise. Our house is to the northwest, blocking views in that direction, and the rolloff roof blocks views to the north.

The MMT Observatory is on Mt. Hopkins behind this range, visible just to the left of the bottom of the large V to the left of the highest peak, Mt. Wrightson.
